Locomotive #111

111 Switcher

"Engine No. 111 at its new home at the Oregon Coast Historical Railway display area in Coos Bay."

Locomotive #111 was built in 1949 and served most of its career in the yards of International Paper Co.'s Gardiner lumber mill and paper plant. The engine was stored and maintained in a large, double-bay shed on the mill site. It remains securely stored there while members of the Oregon Coast Historical Railway ready it for a move to their Coos Bay display area.

Members of the Oregon Coast Historical Railway team up on prep work on #111, the 1949 Alco S-2 switcher that was used at the International Paper lumber mill and paper plant in Gardiner, Ore.
